Sometimes it can be difficult to get off campus and see all of the neat things happening just down the Durham Freeway.  Come spend a day visiting companies, and in addition, see a number of them all together at a RTP Startup Showcase in the evening.  This is a unique opportunity for students to visit with multiple companies all in one day.  No entrepreneurship experience required, and you don't even need to bring a resume!  Just be prepared to learn and see all that there is to see right next door.

Spots on the buses are limited!

Attendees will pick an Industry Track and visit the companies listed upon each track. Tracks include:

LIFE SCIENCES
-Affinergy - focused on developing coatings and medical devices for the orthopedic and cardiovascular markets.
-Centice -  leverages its unique sensor technologies to empower pharmacists and other health care professionals to increase efficiency, optimize workflow and assure improved quality of dispensed medications.
-Aurora Funds - a venture capital firm that provides capital, connections and strategic guidance to entrepreneurs with early-stage healthcare and information technology companies.
-Liquidia - designs, develops, and manufactures precisely engineered nanoparticles and patterned films for high-value applications in Engineered Drug Therapies™ and Optical Films.

SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP TRACK
-TROSA - an innovative, multi-year residential program that enables substance abusers to be productive, recovering individuals by providing comprehensive treatment, work-based vocational training, education, and continuing care.
-TS Designs - a t-shirt dye and print shop that focuses on green initiatives.

WEB/SOFTWARE TRACK
-Shoeboxed -  a free online receipt and business card management service that scans paper receipts into exportable digital files.
-Channel Advisor - combines best practices, innovative software and integrated technology to help retailers maximize their profits across multiple e-commerce channels.
-Intersouth - one of the most active and experienced venture funds in the Southeast, having invested in more than 90 private companies over the last two decades.
-ReverbNation - a Music 2.0 company that is responding to the changing music business paradigm.  The network of people, products and services brings artists, fans, venues, and record labels together in innovative ways.

The RTP Startup Showcase brings 15 of the most interesting startups in Research Triangle Park onto Duke's campus.  All Duke students are invited to this unique opportunity to meet with, connect with, and listen to presentations from the great startups that are located right down Durham Freeway. Companies will have booths that they will be stationed at to answer your questions, but will also give brief presentations talking about their story.  Internships, part-time and full-time opportunities will be available. We expect attendance of over 300 students and food and drink will be provided.  While this event is at Fuqua, we encourage students from all over campus to attend.
